Changing law to probably

I think that for some laws, the phrase “proven beyond a reasonable doubt” should be replaced with the word “probably.” There are too many cases that are lost because things just can’t be proven without a reasonable doubt. We could definitely catch more criminals if we change our laws ever so slightly…

Current case example:

Plaintiff: “Based on the evidence, we have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that you did it.”

Defendant: “Nope, you didn’t.”

Case example with my proposed change:

Plaintiff: “Based on the evidence, you probably did it.”

Defendant: “Alright, you got me there, I probably did it.”
