It’s amazing how hard a human has to think to outsmart a fish

October 21, 2006

If you’ve ever seen a real fisherman’s tackle box or heard their extensive strategies for luring (no pun intended, even though it may not actually be a pun because that is why a lure is called a lure) a fish onto their hook, you’ll realize that mankind has really overestimated the brainpower of a fish.  Fish have small brains and virtually nonexistent memories, yet they still have a leg up on humans when one is pitted against the other.  If fish put half the effort that anglers do into figuring out ways to pull humans into the water and drown them, we’d all be in trouble.
